The Ugly Duckling

The Ugly Duckling is a story of how an ugly duckling transformed into a beautiful swan. However in my story, there is no transformation. The ugly duckling has stayed an ugly duckling, just grown up.People always say it isn't beauty on the outside that counts, but beauty on the inside. I agree with this, but that doesn't mean people don't judge the beauty on the outside as well. With all the beautiful models in fashion shows, I can honestly say I wish I was them. Even if I wish I was them, I know I'm a long way away and it's quite silly of me to compare to a model. But the thing is, I don't even think I can compare to my friends. Truthfully, I think all my friends are beautiful. I am amazed at how beautiful each of them are and even more, their inner beauty is also beautiful. With my group of beautiful friends, I feel like an ugly duckling. Sometimes I just wish I could be like them or at least have half of their beauty. In life, beauty is not everything and I understand that, but it's different if you have nothing else but beauty. |
